Dear LVUSD Families,

On behalf of THE Foundation for Las Virgenes Schools, we would like to thank every parent, business leader, and community member who supported THE Foundation during the 2021-2022 academic year. We experienced the largest attendance ever at THE Carnival and brought back THE Event, where hundreds of community members, business leaders and faculty celebrated and raised funds for our cause.  If you missed THE Event, click here for a recap.

While it’s vital to support our individual schools directly, they are not allowed to directly fund many important expenses such as teachers and counselors. This is why in 2010, a group of parents from across the district created T.H.E. Foundation for Las Virgenes Schools: Together Helping Education. As leaders of THE Foundation Board, we are renewing our commitment to unite businesses, community members, and district families to give our children the learning and support opportunities they deserve.

At THE Foundation, we have heard your call for smaller classes at our elementary, middle, and high schools so this academic year, THE Foundation is focusing on raising funds to assist the district in reducing class sizes.  With your support of our annual appeal, THE Carnival and THE Event, THE Foundation will contribute over $100,000 to the Las Virgenes School District in support of its efforts to reduce class sizes across the district.

Thanks to the generous donations of families like yours and government-supported CARES Act funding, LVUSD has continued implementing its Strategic Plan that provides targeted class size reduction, centralized Visual and Performing Arts education for elementary students, full-time library and media centers across the district, and increased mental and academic support.

This academic year, THE Foundation is focused on supporting the district’s efforts to reduce class sizes.  While a gift of even $50 will help, we encourage you to invest in your children’s education by donating $500 to become a member of our VIP Club or $1,000 to join our Honor Roll.  These groups enjoy district-wide recognition as well as many benefits from special access to events to exclusive opportunities and experiences. Families who donate $500 during our appeal are eligible for code redeem for a free ride wristband to THE Carnival.

Our goal is 100% LVUSD-family participation.  If the approximately 8,000 families with children in our district contributed $500 to this appeal, we could raise $4,000,000!  Your support will fundamentally change your children’s education and ensure low student to teacher ratios district-wide.

Please contribute today by visiting thefoundationlvs.org to make your tax-deductible donation. We accept credit cards, checks, and even direct stock transfers and charitable IRA rollovers.

Together, we can make LVUSD stronger than ever. Please contact us with any questions or if you are interested in volunteering to help THE Foundation.

Sincerely,
