Annual Appeal 2016

We’re kicking off our annual appeal. Please support our kids and our schools. The money raised from this campaign will pay for credentialed classroom teacher and counselors throughout our school district.Give a little. Give a lot. Just give. The Foundation is the only parent organization that can raise funds to hire credentialed classroom teachers and counselors. Substantial donations could mean more individualized attention, smaller classes and additional school counselors. Donations, which can be put on credit cards as well as broken down into interest-free installments, can be made online or via the paperwork brought home by the students.

The Foundation has supported the district by donating over a million dollars in the past four years. Superintendent Dr. Dan Stepenosky expressed his appreciation for the organization’s efforts. “The reality is that in today’s budget environment, successful school districts must develop a culture of local, community giving to be able to continue to offer the educational opportunities our children deserve,” he said. “Our partnership with The Foundation helps ensure each and every one of our schools have the resources necessary for success.”

Uncorked: Sip. Shop. Savor.

This one's for the parents! The Village at Westfield Topanga and The Foundation are coming together to raise their glasses and raise funds for Las Virgenes schools. From 4-7 pm on July 23, 2016, ticket holders will experience four beautiful wine gardens each featuring tastings from Malibu Coast AVA Wine Trail's finest vintages, delectable bites from the Restaurant Collection at The Village, shopping perks and live music performances. There will also be one beer garden for beer lovers with Ballast Point Brewery, also with bites and live music. Upon entry, guests will receive a beautiful wine glass to use during the event and take home.

Bob Smith BMW Drive for a Cause

On Saturday, June 18th, 2016 The Foundation for Las Virgenes schools and BMW came together for an amazing fundraiser. Each test drive raised $50 for our schools. While participants test drove one of ten cars, the rest of the family ate Monty's Steak or S'cream Ice cream. Additionally, there was face painting and a Video Game Truck! It was a a true success and the entire family was entertained while raising $5,000 for our schools!  We are truly appreciative to have been BMW's choice for their wonderful fundraiser!

What a Night!

The Event celebrated its 5th year anniversary with the unveiling of a spectacular new venue, a new date and as always, an elegant and unforgettable evening of food, wine, auctions and entertainment! On Saturday, May 21st, 2016, at the beautiful Calabasas Civic Center, the city center was transformed into a sophisticated block-party. Guests enjoyed tastings from premier local restaurants and wineries while perusing must-have, one-of-a-kind auction items during the silent auction. New elements for the 2016 soiree included a beer garden featuring local craft breweries and an intimate, farm-to-table dining experience. With over 1,000 guests created memories like never before.

Going Green Raises Funds.

You may have noticed a new green bin on your campus. The Foundation for Las Virgenes Schools is happy to announce a new program to recycle books, CDs and DVDs from our school and from our homes. Please bring any items that are no longer needed in your home and put them in the bin. You may also schedule a home pick-up for large donations. This program will raise a minimum of $650 every month that will be reinvested in the Library Media Centers throughout the district. So clean out your bookshelves and share the gift of reading all while helping enhance our schools’ resources. If you have any questions about this program, please contact Tina Johnson at tjohnson@lvusd.org.
